Dr. Mozayani is the Executive Director of Forensic Sciences & Professor at Texas Southern University. She is a Board Certified Fellow of the American Board of Forensic Toxicology (F-ABFT) and is an emeritus member of the American Crime Laboratory Director. Prior to her current position she was the Laboratory Director and Chief Toxicologist at the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences in Houston, Texas for more than fifteen years. She is also president and founder of the International Forensic Science Consultants, LLC.
Dr. Mozayani has published over 25 peer-reviewed articles, edited five books, authored chapters in six books, and presented over 80 scientific papers related to crime laboratory management, forensic toxicology at meetings of professional societies. She serves on the editorial board of “Forensic Science, Medicine and Pathology" and was also the first US Editor of the journal.
Dr. Mozayani is the past president of the Southwestern Association of Toxicologists, a previous board member of the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors and the Society of Forensic Toxicologists. She is an active fellow member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, a member of the Canadian Society of Forensic Sciences and the International Association of Forensic Toxicologists. She was a delegate member of the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors-Laboratory Accreditation Board for fifteen years.
Dr. Mozayani is an Assessor/ Auditor for the American Crime Laboratory Directors/Laboratory Accreditation Program, Standards Council of Canada, the National Laboratory Certification Program, the American Board of Forensic Toxicologists and the College of American Pathologists and Forensic Urine Drug Testing
Dr. Mozayani holds academic appointment in the Department of Pathology at University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston,Texas. She is a Senior Forensic Science Adviser and Instructor for the International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP), under the aegis of the Criminal Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. She has been a Senior Forensic Adviser to the government of Uzbekistan and Thailand and also an ICITAP Forensic Science instructor for all aspects of laboratory management and toxicology laboratory operations in the countries of Morocco, Sri Lanka and Turkmenistan. Last and foremost, she has been testified as an expert witness in forensic toxicology and pharmacology in the states of Texas, Virginia, Maryland, Oklahoma, Florida, Kansas, California, Idaho, Montana, the Federal Court in Massachusetts and the numerous Military Courts of the United States.
