It is with great TSU pride that I would like to welcome each of you to Texas Southern University and the
Administration of Justice Department. Here at TSU my distinguished colleagues and I promote a
collegiate environment that strives for high academic achievement and excellence. The Administration of
Justice Department offers several degree options such as the Bachelor of Science (B.S.), Master of
Science (M.S.), Executive Master’s Degree (e-MAJ) and a Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Administration of
Justice. The department has an open door policy in an effort to foster professional relationships among
faculty and students, and to help students throughout the matriculation process.
The mission of the Administration of Justice Department is to educate students for careers and
community service within a diverse urban environment through the development of specialized
knowledge and skills needed for effective public service. The Department strives to prepare students not
only with facts and concepts, but also, more importantly, to think critically and ethically in applying
knowledge to related problems and challenging situations.
The Administration of Justice Department strives to create an atmosphere where students (1) can advance
in their knowledge of the field, (2) engage in critical thinking both inside and outside of the classroom
and (3) effect change in their respective communities once they matriculate from the university. This is
accomplished by providing professional development workshops for students, engaging students in
interdisciplinary research and exposing students to professionals within the field.
