About
Qisheng Pan is a professor at Texas Southern University in the Urban Planning and Environmental Policy department housed in the Barbara Jordan-Mickey Leland School of Public Affairs. He received his Ph.D. in Planning from the University of Southern California. His research interest include Freight Transportation and Land Use and Application of GIS and Computer Techniques in Urban Studies.
Dr. Pan has many writing credits to his name. As of recently, he published an article entitled “Modeling the Effects of Peak-Load Pricing on Metropolitan Network Activities that was published in the Transportation Research Record, Journal of the Transportation Research Board ; and “Economic Losses from Hypothetical Hurricane Event in the Houston-Galveston Area,” published in the Natural Hazard Review. He has authored two books , several book chapters and has a plethora of funded research projects, consulting and other research experience. Dr. Pan also has works in progress “The Impacts of Light Rail on Residential Property Values: A Case Study of the Houston METRORail Transit Line”.
With a laundry list of conference presentations and speech invites, he has developed planning model packages that systems and software programs designed that included combined distribution and freight trip assignment, the impacts on regional events and activities and several module levels.
The Texas Southern University Department of Public Affairs awarded Dr. Pan with the Scholarship Recognition Award in 2008 and he has been a valued member of the University since 2003.
