A Ph.D. graduate of Rutgers University’s School of Public Affairs and Administration in Newark, New Jersey, Sarmistha
Majumdar is an Associate Professor in the Barbara Jordan- Mickey Leland School of Public Affairs at Texas Southern
University. She has also held positions at the University of Nebraska, Omaha; Sam Houston State and University of
North Texas, Denton.
Dr. Majumdar has presented at several conference, with her most recent titled, “Environmental Hazards of Fracking” at the 75th National Conference of American Society for Public Administration and “Ushering in an Era of
Environmental Friendly Vehicle”, presented at the Dupont Policy Conference of Policy Studies Organization. Alongside
her many publications she also serves as the Chair of the American Society of Public Administration's Section on Environment and Natural Resources Administration (SENRA) and an Editorial Board member fo the Journal of Public Management and Social
Policy. Her professional career outside of academia includes services as a member of the Society for Public
Administrators, the Pi Alpha Alpha National Honor Society and Policy Studies Organization.
