Abstract
In this autoethnographic essay, Karen Kossie-Chernyshev, a fifth-generation Texan and third-generation Houstonian, recounts her recent discovery that her family’s history and Texas history are interwoven more deeply than she would ever have imagined. She argues that her family’s history "is" Texas history.
